The ones that can gain the most from the benefits the water can give are the ones who have the most difficulty in safely gaining access to and from the water. The water’s buoyancy relieves a person’s weight while in the water reducing stress on joints and helps circulation. The water allows many people with a disability or injury to do certain exercises and body movements that can’t be done by them out of the water.
Sometimes, some think that the only people who need a lift to access the water are those confined to a wheel chair. While the lift certainly helps those requiring the use of a wheelchair, there are many others that the lift can be of a great asset to.
There are so many disabilities such as arthritis, ALS, MS, and many other diseases and injuries that effect the young and the elderly that will allow many people to navigate without the use of a wheelchair, but may not be able to descend down or climb up a ladder or steps in a pool. The lift can really help those people as well gain a safe and dignified access to the water.
